MISSION

Our mission at MademJac's Antiques and Collectibles Guide is to provide a complete online reference site where the antique enthusiast or hobbyist can visit to gather a wealth of information, in a well-organized format, at once interesting and productive. We will pursue this through the use of: informative and creative articles and projects; discussions and images on featured topics; regularly updated industry directory, glossary, and calendar of events; website reviews; and a special section, Old Time Stories, featuring true stories from old-timers. The format of MademJac's Antiques and Collectibles Guide is ongoing--a continuing work-in-progress.

OUR BEGINNINGS

MademJac's Antiques and Collectibles Guide is a compilation of many years of buying, selling, research, experience, and insights into the fascinating world of antiques and collectibles. Many times, searching online for information on an item, topic, or website can be a daunting, and sometimes fruitless task, producing rather limited results, and leaving one feeling a bit let down and disappointed for their efforts. There was a need for a one-stop site, where people could go to get a vast array of information from the world of antiques and vintage collectibles—not just a bit here or a bit there. MademJac's Antiques and Collectibles Guide was created to fill that void.

OUR CUSTOMERS

This Guide was developed with the antique enthusiast in mind. We cater to the vast majority of antiquers--the “commoners”, who love their treasures, both found and lost, and want to know more about them. Most of us would agree that the beauty of antiquing is in the hunt—the hunt for treasures--and once found, the thirst to know more, to gain new perspectives of the things we’ve found. We love to watch the Antiques Roadshow and to see what’s happening on eBay, to glean the flea markets for bargains and peruse the booths at the local fair. And although we’re not the “royal few” who rule the Kingdom of Antiquities, our passion likens. And that’s why this guide was created—to serve the "commoners"—to provide the majority of antique enthusiasts with the information they want, be it specific information on a particular subject, or the nearest place to shop for that special gift; how to care for a treasured item, or what to do with Aunt Sally’s old records. MademJac's Antiques and Collectibles Guide is a tool to do just that. Use it, peruse it, enjoy it, critique it.
